Hi stockman_scott; Re: "What will our President say to the families who have lost soldiers in Iraq?" The next version of the story is that we're there to help the Iraqi people. I would guess that the Administration truly is working on hearts and minds. But it's the hearts and minds of the American voters, rather than the Iraqis, that they really care about. Stuff may be getting to the point where it cannot be ignored. My local radio station is starting its hourly news reports with the O'Neil claim that the Bush administration started planning to have a war with Iraq from the first month in power, long before 9/11 gave them real reason to do it. If the war had gone well, all would be forgiven. By the way, did you read this one: #reply-19676916 ? I finished the book and it gets worse. By the end, the author is planning to move his killing from Algeria to France, with the targets being "metropolitan" French citizens. Also, do note that the disastrous Algerian war was prosecuted equally unlawfully by both the right and left wings of the French government. (Sort of reminiscent of how the Republicans and Democrats both prosecuted the Vietnamese war.) -- Carl
