Yes, lorne we who live here are patriots too whether we agree with the Givt. on a particular issue or not. In the case of O'Neill, we need to be fair to him too. And the way to assure this is for a start to not run down his character as a liar who wants to make money by lying. I think he is a respectable person, he has held very respectable positions and when he decided to put what he says on paer, he is smart enough to know that he needs to back up his claim.

I am sure he can ask to make some Govt. documents to be made public which I doubt Bush will do. Or maybe he possess some communication to that effect which he will not release if the Administration tells him not to. And he is a man of character, unlike what you say. he would not want to start a public feud with the Administration.
