It is an "Arrogance of Power" thing, I suspect.

Perhaps.

Or perhaps it's a "Republicrat" thing -- doesn't matter whether a Democrat or Republican gets in, so he's not hurting anything.

Or perhaps it's that he feelsthat having the ideas he passionately believes in heard by the public is what is really important.

Or perhaps it's arrogance of power.

Or a combination of all of the above plus.

What I do know is that anybody who actually wants to be President and is willing to do what is necessary to run is unqualified for the position.
