To start, there is our financial and military support of Israel. You don't believe that is perceived as influential by Muslim nations in the ME? Obviously Israel and American aid to Israel and others has an impact on the region I just don't see it as an example of "Trying to export our culture". To the extent that the US government, American corporations or American individuals do export our culture to the ME it is pretty much a voluntary thing. Individuals in the area choose to partake of aspects of out culture. As for imposing our politics on the region - Certainly we have been involved in the region but outside of Iraq we haven't been that forceful about it. As for aid, if our aid has conditions then the recipents still have the option of rejecting the aid. Tim
