I do not know... I wish I had some influence in BOTH governments... I do not see that happening anytime soon... [do you see scorpions flying ? -g]

I have already mentioned my ideas:

1.- Guest worker program (actually, Don Jorge has taken the first step for that]

2.- A summit between US/Mex government; US/Mex labor leaders; and US/Mex private industry all together in a spirit of co-operation forgetting vote/attention getter bullshit. (in other words run the damned thing like a private corporation facing bankruptcy but with the assets to turn it around)

3. Creation of EXPORT oriented manufacturing zones (in both sides of the border (and NOT exclusively along the Mexican border --but that would be a start--) where tax incentives would prompt economic activity in the area in question and begin achieving a wider focus in exporting American products, using labor from both sides.

4. Curb liability oriented lawsuits (or at least define "limits of awards")

5. Same on the medical insurance field (which will affect worker's benefits.)

6. TRASH workmen's compensation irrational laws...

now...

how about you?

would you trade your gun-toting proposals for some ideas ?

tscht-tscht... -gg
