You have capitulated to bin Laden, in accepting his terms of 'war' ..... one flea-bitten raghead impresses you with a sizeable crime, and you dissolve into quivering ninnies praying to some Colonel Jingo WOT-spouter .... your fear makes you give away far too much when you promote terrorists to the status of warriors ... geez you guys, get off your knees, you are embarrassing the Rest of Us .... Moore definitely had a point in that Bowling for Columbine, which is not at core about guns, it is about fear
'in the absence of 9/11 .. I daresay we'd be arguing about trade issues ... instead of TROY's fears of an enraged Uncle'
The same phenomenon has the same effect in trade .... remember, the 'Commerce' department assault on canadian forestry came before, not after, the WTC came down .... so it's the nature of the administration that is in question, and the cause of that nature, and how do we find a miracle drug to inoculate ourselves against it
Sure there is a degree of apprehension in the Rest of Us, of the fear in you, of how easily you let your fear be manipulated to the point where you are unable to distinguish the situation of Afghanistan from that of Iraq, after all the WOT-promotion justifications for rule by a tiny elite ..... talk about 'divide and conquer', oh yeah, the thing is you need a better idea of where the dividing lines are being drawn - bin Laden, Bush, and Hussein don't look all that far apart, from where most of us stand ...... you are unlikely to see me get humiliated and marked at that border, by the way, i got in the habit of flying direct when my wife was not yet a canadian citizen, and it works well ... there are plenty of friendly places to visit while we're waiting for the US pendulum to start swinging back, if we live right and stay lucky we'll live long enough to see that
No one here has mentioned the new bracero programme, three-year papelito for indigenous migrant labour, then maybe renewed or maybe the boot .... considered domestic probably, amazing what a few years of occupation will do to perceptions ... ah well, got to go now ... cheers |
