Steve, it may be that the 10 institutions shown on Yahoo are the 10 largest institutions, which still doesn't get us the info we want. For example, I use Smith Barney. They may have another 5,000 or so clients who also own shares of SanDisk, and whose accounts are in street name. That might make Smith Barney one of the largest "institutional" owners. Looking at the problem from the company perspective, SanDisk records will show my shares as owned by Smith Barney, so even if we looked at SanDisk records, we wouldn't learn much about institutional holdings.
