Hawk, I am sorry to see that you have become so vehemently anti-French because of France not supporting the Iraq policy of Mr. Bush.

I disagree with France's approach on banning the display pf clothing which is religious in nature such as the Hijab (Muslim), the skull cap (Jewish) etc. There is good post from lorne on this thread about EU being slammed by Amnesty International. Unfortunately, the EU is behind the US on such issues of diversity, France included. That is what irks me about France and Germany. Not because they went against Bush's policies.

So your claim that I do not like Bush or worse still I do not like the US is untrue. I criticize some things only when I think that if we did things the way I think it should be done then that would take us to a better state. I don't criticize for any malice or denigration of "everthing that is bad here". At the same time we also take credit for what the US is doing right such as in the case I discussed above.
