You're totally right about how Holmgren kept Favre in check. They bucked horns but in the final analysis they were better together than they are apart. I hated to lose Holmgren but I really disliked "the way" he left. He was not the same coach in 1998 that he had been because he was pissed at Ron Wolf for not allowing him out of his contract the previous year. That was a hell of a coaching staff we had and GB for the first time in a very long time was drafting talent well. What hurts now is I see a guy in Brett Favre that I believe gave so much to GB that I'd like to see the team take him on their shoulders (for a change) and get him that second ring. I fear the time is passing and this year may have been our last, best chance to do that for a guy who gave his heart to us. I just love the guy and the way he plays the game. How many young guns would really want to play in GB Wisconsin? I mean...you're 22 and a stud QB...do you want to live and play in Hooterville USA? Probably not.

I fargin Love Favre for what he gave us
