I don't think anyone believes that the stock will have any value when UAL emerges. The company has assets to pay creditors (including municipalities who have leases on ariport facilities) about $.15 on the dollar. All creditors must be satisfied 100% before existing shareholders get on dime. It is just a trading game and brinksmanship until that time.

USAIR was trading at $1.27 the day before they cancelled the stock upon emerging from bankruptcy.
