Sorry about the delayed response. I have been in Pisgah National Forest and Asheville, NC for a few days.
I read through the messages.
I have seen Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, agnostics, and atheists serve honorably. I have seen Democrats, Independents, Republicans, and men with no party affiliation serve honorably.
I respect everyone's honorable US Military service, equally. Regardless of personal affiliations, awards, rank or chosen service.
Dissent can be a wonderful thing in America. The argument is always important and is settled by the vote. Except in the military, where command always rules. I suggest not being put off by someone's griping. We always said, "A soldier has a right to bitch."
Freedom and fighting for freedom require neither agreement with nor acquiescence to another's opinions. Indeed, the essence of freedom is being free to disagree.
Time is all any of us really have. Those who willingly give three, four or more years of their precious time to preserving our freedom deserve our respect not our judgement.
