Hi Yiwu,

...My metabolism worked great until a couple of years ago, so I was pretty thin no matter how I ate. But now it starts to slow down somewhat, so I have to pay some attention to my total calories...

Been there, done that! <g>

Seriously, when I was about 18 (until about age 30 or so), I ate like a horse. No kidding. I could polish off 2 extra-large double-pepperoni extra-cheese pizzas and a six-pack of Pepsi, and still have room for dessert. I was skinny as a rail back then, not an ounce of fat anywhere.

But, then sometime after my 30th birthday, the old metabolism rate slowed down. Unfortunately, my appetite remained the same. Slowly, verrryy slooooowlyyy, the weight went on. Now I have that infamous "spare tire" (which is a euphemism for "love handles"). And believe me, it's tough to lose. I've tried. Diet and exercise get you only so far. Those last few inches just don't budge. Maybe if I went on a 2-year fast while running a daily marathon... <g>

Anyway, I was just wondering if the easy availability of junk food in the USA would corrupt your dietary habits... Now I know. It's me, not the food... <g>
