Wow. That was long! But informative. Thanks for that... Granted that very little can be done to keep people coming in from a relatively open border of 3,000 kms, perhaps something can be done to reduce chances of employment of people without US residence or nationality. The issue with Turks coming to Germany as "guest workers" is rather different. The two countries are pretty far apart. Apparently, Germany needed workers (lots of) for the factories - menial jobs that were not in favour with Germans, I suppose (this was before the collapse of the Berlin Wall). I gave the example so you would rethink the merits of the "guest worker" program - I very much doubt if any of these "guests" left Germany :-)
