I found this passage interesting:

"Rather he was concerned that the temple was not the place for any such exchanges to be taking place at all. Such business should have been transacted BEFORE coming to the temple to worship. The presence of these things had "tarnished" and "prevented" true worship from taking place."

There was an article in the business section of my local paper last sunday that I found disturbing. Basically it is about how some churches are getting real active in financial stuff. While helping someone find a job is laudable, I think if taken to far the real purpose of the church will get lost.

"usually a guest speaker provides the weapons to attack debt and credit problems or offers information on car-buying, homeownership, savings and investing. Often the speakers offer deals that allow the members to get low-interest rates and prices"

"There are also periodic finance fairs that provide one-on-one help from a certified financial planner"
