To All & esp Ron: Rec'd another e-mail from Ron Patton today. It
is produced in its entirety below:

This was my e-mail:

Subject: Re: SEVL and MSFT ActiMates Barney

Did you see the show?? How were the sales? What were the sales
figures on the computer pack? It sure seems like it would be faster and more fun than the video. Any insight? Thanks. I already posted your note about the show. Looks like the new toy is hitting the streets a month earlier than originally expected.

This is his reply:

Sales were very positive. The unit sales shown on screen, something like 1500+, were only displayed for about 10 minutes of the hour show. You might assume that the rate was steady. I can't give you the specific numbers for PC Pack and TV Pack sales except to say that you're assumptions are correct in your email, below.

Sorry for being vague, but I'm an MSFT employee. I was the Test/QA Manager for ActiMates Barney and I'm walking a fine line with what info I can provide... I periodically drop in to read the postings on Stock Talk and wanted all of you who are invested in SEVL to see the product's debut. It was fun for me to see after having invested 18 months of my life to a stuffed purple dinosaur.

One point of clarification, that is a public fact, is that the 3 extra CD-ROM's (Circus, Farm, and Sea) do not require the ActiMates Barney. They work as plain old multimedia CD's. If you don't have stuffed Barney you get an on-screen Barney, everything else is the same. They'll be sold in computer stores in the kids software area. These are the only CD's done with Barney. Sales are not limited to people with the doll.
