Yes, too bad we abandoned the "Viets," after all, there were a bunch of villagers we hadn't wiped out yet and there was still plenty of room for them in the ground. A few million of them wasn't enough for you I guess, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of casualties our soldiers took. But then look what we "gained" there?????? "Pacification" does have it's price, doesn't it? Why don't you look up the definition of "failure." Maybe there's some way that in the future this policy could be considered a "failure." Maybe the signs are there now?
