Me thinks Intel's earnings for this quarter will be close to the peak bubble earnings. There is significant upside for the future, since Intel is not firing on all cylinders as yet.

The Laptop and Centrino are humming, but everything else has not reached the full potential. The server and enterprise market is waking up, and should recover rapidly. The cellular communication business is booming, but Intel's pricing fumble has been a disaster; but Intel does have strong product offerings, and there is significant upside. The wireline communication business has been moribund, but is finally poised to take off again.

Verizon announced the deployment of a full 3G network in USA. This is the turning point for the communication business. There is a new viable business model for deploying 3G networks. The WiFi suppliers are fragmented, the coverage is not universal, and a business traveller is hunting for a location to make a WiFi connection. A universal 3G network would appeal to such a customer. Once universal coverage is available, entrepreneurs will provide cell phone based applications for the mass consumer market. So communications business will finally begin to move, and Intel is well poised in that area as well.

So overall Intel earnings should be improving over the next several years. How much of that has already been discounted by the market, I dont know.
