Brian, of course the body must die because of sin. It will be sown in corruption (because of the curse pronounced against sin). It will be raised in incorruption because of Jesus.
I asked you how the Spirit of Christ quickened your mortal body, as per Romans 8:11, and you respond with issues of the inner man, and not the body. You avoided the exact question I posed and worse, the exact wording of the verse.
My spirit is quickened because of the indwelling Spirit of Christ. However, my body is a lot less quickened than it was before I got saved. My hair is grayer, I have a spare tire of 40 inches at the waist, instead of my lithe 34 of yesteryear. My face has more lines than it did when it was bright and shining during my heathen days. So, it seems to me (and any witness you may choose to testify about my overall appearance) that I must wait for. . . he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead to give life also to my mortal body.
I did not ask you about your spirit, which I readily agree is quickened by faith in Christ. Further, I readily agree that "quickening" is a term used of both the inner and outer man in Scripture. Incredibly, you seem unable to admit its dual use, even though I have meticulously although not exhaustively, pointed out its use with regard to the body.
However, "resurrection" means to stand up. What stands up? (anastasis; from G450; a standing up, i.e. a resurrection, a raising up, rising:—resurrection (41), rise (1)) Check out the 42 uses of it in the New Testament, if you care.
