It's not simple. But neither is it too nuanced. Different strokes for different folks around the world. We got hit because Osama believed we were cowards, and that he could sit in Kabul and not be touched. We had a long FA history to prove it. That was the first thing that had to cease. The new Frum/Perle book, An End to Evil: How to Win the War on Terror, is the closest to the right policy I have read. It is an "outsiders" book, in spite of the reputation of the Authors. Frum was never in, and Perle hasn't talked to the Prez.
