COLUMN: Bush lies exposed ( )

NORMAL, Ill., Jan 14, 2004 (The Daily Vidette, U-WIRE via COMTEX) -- President Bush should be held accountable for exaggerating and lying about the Iraqi threat to our national security. Where are the weapons of mass destruction? What happened to the supposed Iraqi ties with al Qaeda that were never substantiated? Lies, lies and more lies.

When are the Bush supporters going to admit that they have been defending a liar and they themselves have been duped? When are these same people going to admit that the best way to support our troops currently in Iraq and Afghanistan is to force Bush to bring them home and get us out of this mess, preventing more American men and women from being sent to the Middle East to die for oil?

We must prevent Bush from utilizing fear and intimidation of another 9/11 attack because it is through this fear and the use of exaggerated facts and outright lies that he is maintaining control and power over the American population.

Once people get past the fear and the lies Bush uses to control us, they will see he is not a good leader. America has seen the loss of 2.5 million jobs and the invasion of two countries that arguably had nothing to do with the 9-11 terrorist attacks, but rather more to do with oil and natural gas reserves and the sneak attacks on civil liberties domestically under the cover of national security. Bush was supposedly voted into the white house to bring morality to it. He has done the opposite.
