America is indeed the best idea on earth! The problem a lot of GOPwingers don't understand is that we have to continue to make it great, that it doesn't stay great in and of itself. True patriotism is the challenge to make a great idea into a greater one; and so America! But when we engage in preemptive warfare, forsake diplomacy and lessen our own civil liberties whether by this war on terrorism or the longstanding and failed drug war--my friends, we as a nation are moving backwards, not forwards on this scale of American greatness. Attempting to legislate morality and ruling over people by emboldening their fears is by no means an exemplary position for America's leaders to take.
