There are a plethora of new systems coming to market that will provide clean, green, renewable power without having to hope that the wind will blow or the clouds will go away on a particular day. Consequently, that will let oil be used for recyclable lubricants, one of its originally most important qualities.
Perhaps GDubya will let them name the first Moon Base transport rocket the "..JFK Special..", so all the opposition can at least feel like they are participating. Or, better yet, "...Teddy's Trolly..." - in which case they can paint the nose bright red without it appearing to be Dizzy City Commie related.
It's amazing how quickly people forget that the technology, fabrics, coatings, cryo-grade insulation materials, optics, fiber optics, doppler radar, inertial guidance for aircraft and rockets, geo-synchronous Comm, scientific and GPS satellites, computers, PCs, and even the Interent are spin-offs of the previous orbital, moon, and shuttle missions. Best investment the USA ever made.
Actually, I like Pipers, too. I've flown a number of their most popular models. Ha ha ha ha ha........ My compliments on your concern for the advancement of general aviation; you should consider joining the EAA and AOPA.
