This is a few days old, but I find this outrageous.

US are going to pull out, but will set up and fund the Iraqi secret police.

A secret police paid for by a nations taxpayers is open to enough conflicts of interests; but one paid for by a foreign country.

If anyone doubts that America had any imperial ambitions, this is the final nail in the coffin of their argument.

So we want the people we want to lead the democracy, else we will set up our own secret police to do the dirty work for us.

Incredible.

What is not incredible is not that some spook somewhere had this idea, but that it is being done in such a public way as if this is 'normal' behaviour. This exactly how the Baath Party and Saddam got into power in the first place - sponsored by the CIA to do its dirty work.

And the majority of Americans still believe this is to do with 9-11. No wonder they have no idea what the government has in store for them economically.
It is incredibly depressing on the one hand, but demonstrates why history and its mistakes are so easily repeated.
