I have a little test about the media.

Take a story that you have 'first-hand' evidence of.
Look at the facts as you remember it viz. how it is reported.
Compare the conclusions you think it is possible to arrive at viz. those that the reporter came up with.
Give it a subjective 'truth' quotient.

It is amazing how when you do this with people they invariably come up with low-ball answers.
Maybe we are cynics, but the one thing that you do know is that you cannot normally arrive at the story that the media tells without some sort of agenda.
The rules of evidence that they go by are unknown to me.

If you agree with a story ne careful; that was its intention.
If you disagree, no worries it was hyped up.
