My favourite media madness these days is the captions they put under photographs, explaining what's going on and why. They seem to just make up any absurd description. Usually, it's obvious that what they say is going on is not what is going on. My all-time favourite was the cover photo in Time Magazine about the male child prostitution in Russia, which they admitted a few weeks later was a duping of them.

What's frightening is how easily opinions are formed on the basis of misrepresentation by media. People just assume what's said or described is true.
