Today's starting off much like yesterday. The ad server has made itself the top priority and nothing else can get done until I've fixed its problems.

I did the 4 Advil and bottle of Guinness bit, but what proved to be the most cathartic was the following, which I highly recommend:

1. Take laptop full of MP3's, Geddy Lee Fender Jazz, and bottle of Guiness to the workshop.

2. Plug laptop into the stereo.

3. Hook up PA system with a mic by each of the stereo's speaker for extra decibels.

4. Queue up a bunch of Rush songs, equalize the bass out of the system, and crank it up to the "ear-bleed" settings.

5. Hook bass up to the bass rig. Crank it up.

6. Spend 2 hours being Geddy Lee, standing right in front of the bass rig so the notes are felt as clearly as they're heard.

7. Spend an hour just jamming on the bass without the stereo going. Mostly Rush, Wooten, and RHCP stuff and lots of just making stuff up.

8. Eat dinner, with another Guinness.

9. Spend an hour jamming with daughter on various brasses.

Nice end to a lousy day. Will probably have to repeat it tonight.
