Agree, especially on StockCharts.

I had an ad agency tell me this morning that it'd be insane to run a financial site without providing quotes and charts. My response to that is:

1. Most people know how to open multiple browser windows, so they can get quotes/charts elsewhere without necessarily "leaving" the site.

2. Most of our users have online brokerage accounts, which provide quotes or even Level II.

3. iHub is proof that a financial site can be successful without quotes and charts.

My main thing is that I know message boards, and want to run the best ones. Period.

But I'll consider including things like quotes and charts if they make us more money than they cost us. The current model of quotes/charts being free is most likely doomed. If we didn't get them (temporarily) as part of our purchase agreement, we would've dropped them on May 16th.

If we have them at all, they'll either be part of a subscription package, or will be sponsored by an advertiser who will cough up decent money to do so.
