AS, Also, the new wisdom is that Bush's last tax cut was a big mistake, and that they are too skewed to the rich. The debt it's creating (plus no jobs) will be weighing us down for decades unless it's cut back.

I don't think any liberal will ever understand. The problem isn't the tax cuts themselves. The true problem is the growing budget. The budget is growing by leaps and bounds under Bush, but that's mainly due to programs that Democrats have been demanding all their political lives. If you thought Iraq was expensive, wait until you see prescription drug benefits.

No matter what, whether through deficits or higher taxes, that budget is going to be a big drag on the economy. Your man John F'in Kerry might raise taxes on whomever he thinks doesn't "deserve" the money, but no matter what, everyone in Washington is spending money that they never earned to buy votes from people who can't afford not to thanks to their dependency on such social programs.
