I didn't say it was ok. I was honest and admitted that the occasional roughing penalty can be effective terror. I'm not ok with the dirty, cheap, late hit. But if you take more than one step at a QB its considered a late hit. So, what I guess I'd be saying is I think its ok to take a 2 step stick on a QB to set the tone of the game - yes. I'm also ok with that kind of hit on a WR as I think it places the fear of god in them as they go over the middle. You may think less of me for saying that but at least I'm honest. The hits I describe were legal hits for most of my young life so it's hard to change my opinion on that level.
