OK, boz..here's some additional response to your comments.

Please direct your concerns to my county tax assessor. My assessment keeps going up every damn year--far beyond any increase in my income. Many other people in my community would also like the assessor to start "assessing in relation to something other than real estate market values as reflected in sales prices".

How about if we start assessing property tax based on condition of the property, or the age and employment status of the owner, or the price of gold in Africa?
