I believe that many Christians get it wrong and their denominations wrongly interpret what Christ said and their doctrine is used as a generalization for all Christians.

As you just explained, the Bible can be read many ways. And has been, since Luther and Calvin, who advocated that people read it for themselves. One of the advantages of being a Roman Catholic is the Church tells you the one true way. You don't have to worry about it. :>)
