Switchers. OSX uptake.

What's interesting to me. Actually kind of sad because it had so much potential.

Apple likes to tout the fact that 40% of its installed base is using OSX.

Seems to me that 40% after 3 years is pretty bad. Especially considering the underlying advantages of OSX. I'd say at least half of that 40% is due to computers that won't boot to 9 anymore so those people don't have a choice or guys like my buddie who are newbies so it doesn't pay them to learn 9.

I think it's clear that OSX has some big drawbacks:

1) Its slow. Feels like swimming in molasses compared to 9
2) A lot of people don't like the interface.
3) I'd have to say that it's getting a lot of bad press about bugs and especially the "service pak" bugs.

I'm using it now because of the multi tasking and the fact I've got a dualie. But If I had a single I'd be on 9 still.

Too bad Apple isn't listening.
