What is high? Relative to what?

High relative to historical standards. High in the sense that an enormous portion of the nations is wealth is being controlled by government. Yes also high relative to the staggering deficts because the taxes are much higher then the deficits although both are too high.

Compassion and charity, not theft from one to give to another.
