No, the Dems ignored the Bush AWOL issue in 2000. It has never been used against Bush except on the internet. The only pundit I've ever heard mention it was on Crossfire during a heated exchange. Paul Begala. But all Dems know Bush took off when it was his time to serve. And if I had been him I would have too. Even so, I am not pretending I am the military crusader of the first world.

Gore was too nice a guy to bring it up. Besides, military service didn't matter in 2000. But now we have a president running on his military record as commander in chief. That is Bush's #1 issue. So while a DEan looks like a wimp compared to Bush, the tables are turned against Kerry and Clark, both of whom have Silver Stars, Purple Hearts and have killed and goten shot of shrapeled for their country. That's why Dean has to go. Godbye Dean and thank God Iowa voters figured it out in time. I expect Dean to lose Iowa or win only by a few votes. Either way the bloom is off the rose and he will go down.
