David Re...Perle puts forth a particularly compelling and cogent argument, and it is very difficult for anyone to attack him on sheer facts. As a result, there is a tendency for things to break down into either ad hominem criticism or repeated attempts to change the subject.

You got to hand it to him, he has chutzpah. However, I would prefer if he cooled it on the regime change in Iran, Syria, SA etc. bit, until we can get Iraq under control. I believe Iraq will turn out okay, its just that we should have a little patience here. Iran could easily reform itself, and Syria, if it gets isolated enough, could easily pull a Libya type turnaround.

As for his thoughts on terror, I think the easy victory in Afghanistan, set Al Qaeda back quite bit, and put them on the defensive. The easy victory in Iraq, over Saddams main army, also set AL Qaeda back, as it stabilized the situation in SA somewhat. 6 months ago, riots, civil war, and possibly downfall of the kingdom seemed inevitable. Now it doesn't.
