(OT) What was the reason for destroying the peace in Iraq in the first place?

I view the Iraq situation entirely outside anything that Blair and Bush have blabbered about.

The reason for the invasion was the fact that the first gulf war was unfinished business. That did occur because Saddam was expansionist, did have WMD's, and invaded Kuwait.

The problems in that area go back centuries of course.

Personally I was not happy to hear that Abu Nidal was a resident in Iraq either. He was prominent in the news as I was growing up.

America does have it's portion of unsavory resident monsters too though.
