RC,
Kerry is a conflicted man because of his war experience and what happened after. He apparently is one hell of a closer and if todays zogby poll is right(up 4%), momentum will sweep him in. Keep in mind that congress should remain republican so the right wing bush agenda will only be affected on its edges. Bush probably will win but i would still advise that he dump cheney(easy enough to do given health issue) and look for a VP(and a successor) who would appeal to independents.
We have talked for a long time and you know i dont buy into the bush bashing at all. I believe on issues that matter most to me--homeland security, fp, free trade, and tax incentives--he has been quite good. But because we guys place these issues on top of our agenda, it doesnt mean that the rest of the country does. So if we are hit on taxes on the margins and other issues are addressed, it is ok with me if the new President is Clinton with a locked zipper. Kerry & Edwards would be OK. For them to get my vote they would certainly have to make the case on fp and homeland security. All i am saying is that they might be able to. And to compare them to dole is ridiculous. Dole was a great senator, a good man and the lousiest of politicians once beyond Kansas. mike
