I'm assuming ASP of about $40, which is much less than your estimate. I may have estimated too low, but these handsets are made in China, largely of Chinese parts, other than the QCOM chip, which I estimate sells for around $10 because it is a low end chip.

Your ASP estimate is way low. There isnt a single CDMA handset model that sells for anywhere near that price. I doubt that even the low-end models with the highest volume (Reliance) are selling below $75-$80. I also dont think that Unicom has concentrated that heavily on the low-end. Their handset sales are still mostly on the post-paid side...and are trending towards color models.

I think that if you used an ASP that was a hundred dollars higher, you would still be on the conservative side.

I also believe that your estimate on Qualcomm chipsets is low....low-end GSM chips sell for that type of price, and they have a higher volume and less horsepower than an equivalent CDMA chip.
