Assumptions should always (and frequently) be challenged. And maths has always demonstrated this. Change an axiom - design/discover a branch of mathematics. I would like any children I have to be definitely mathematically competent (hopefully excellent). Assumptions->Reasoning->Conclusions. If all these are sound then there is no beef here! I just feel that many do not follow the process for fear of discovering something unpalatable. The truths are out there! Yup, all of them! -macavity
