America as a One-Party State

You do bring some long articles to the thread. As I'm sure you know, there is little new in this article other than "fleshing out" a few particulars. What I'm having trouble with is the complete obliviousness of most people in this country. I've used the same Ben Franklin quote in conversations about the current political state of the nation. The only reaction I get is either a blank stare, or anger where I'm called an alarmist or a communist. If communist, I respond that Marx is a 19th century passé joke that only the anachronistic care about. If alarmist, well so was Paul Rever. But nothing seems to get through. It's as though some brain novocaine was in the food supply.
