Memo to thread: Bill comes from the networking industry, which more than any other industry was devastated in the 00-02 recession/depression (resulting in a massive labor purge) which is now being restaffed in asia. There is no jobs recovery for the laid off networking employees, the industry is recovering, profits are recovering, but middle class prosperity, in the form of good jobs for engineers and middle management, is elusive and has been shifted offshore.

For proof, just look at Juniper networks "careers" page.

(juniper networks blew out their numbers today with much higher guidance but they are not planning to hire in US. Only bangalore, with a few management and marketing people here).
