Moon/Mars Shots: how is it that we supposedly landed astronauts on the moon more than 30 years ago and now we plan to 'do it again' next decade.
So our technology was at such an advanced stage then that we could land humans and get them back, but we have not been able to accomplish this since, and won't till next decade.

Now the drilling equipment to Mars, that sounds like business, but the moon landing and the waving flag was a fairy story.

The Chinese recently announced they were to send astronauts to the moon next decade, and their space program is very active now.

I don't suppose there is any connection btw Chinese and our 'brave new Moon/Mars plan. Suppose the Chinese got a man up there and no footprints/evidence of human landing to be found.

I always get a chuckle about the astronauts on the moon stories, though.
