[VAR & VSEA] Another Amicus Curiae in California Supreme Court:
"The Varian holding, that anti-SLAPP appeals are not automatically stayed is not only against law and legislative intent, it generates deleterious public policy. The deterrent effect of the anti-SLAPP statute and its immediate appeal right will be emasculated without the automatic stay. The ruling is clearly contrary to the express intent of the Legislature and the deterrent purpose of the anti-SLAPP legislation."
