and it is not at all clear that the scientific payoffs from space are greater than science on earth. Yeah. But the money won't get spent on science on earth. It'll get spent supporting those welfare mamas making more crack addicts. But to say that manned space exploration is so compelling that it is worth saddling our children with hundreds of billions of dollars in additional debt is ludicrous. We don't have the money and we should not borrow the money to do this while there are other and more pressing priorities. Manned space flight makes for good photo-ops and drums up support for other space activities. So JFK WAS a fool?
