I agree. Had we demonstrated some patience with our allies and formed a coalition rather than suddenly pursuing a solo Iraq war, we could have preserved a chunk of money (not to mention the dignity and reputation of our Sec. of State) which could have been used for a variety of other purposes, including renewable energy technology, or even researching the basic science of nanotechnology in medicine. Or imagine another $100B to use toward promoting higher education, the arts, or just to support the debt. Randy
