As the saying goes, the Devil lies in the details: the impending law banning "conspicuous" (in French: ostensible) signs of persuasion is flawed by its open-ended qualifier "conspicuous" --of course, the French legislators are well aware of that "semantic crack". Predictably, there'll be endless litigations and legal challenges filed by pupils who feel their headscarves are not THAT conspicuous...
