>>In Mr. Drucker's words, "Nobody seems to realize that we import twice or 3 times as many jobs as we export. I'm talking about the jobs created by foreign companies coming into the U.S.," such as Japanese automobile plants making Toyotas and Hondas on American soil.

"Siemens alone has 60,000 employees in the United States," Mr. Drucker points out. "We are exporting low-skill, low-paying jobs but are importing high-skill, high-paying jobs."<<

Am I to conclude the IT jobs exported from Silicon Valley & nationally as well were all "low skilled" jobs? That's not so. Just watch Lou Dobb's CNN 6PM each evening & listen to unemployed formerly high-paid workers express their discontent.

As far as imported jobs by foreign-owned companies....that does not contribute to strength of U.S. economy to the extent American-owned companies do. We are quickly becoming a nation of foreign-owned food stores, restaurants, retail stores, etc. I refuse to shop any longer at those foreign-owned establishments & in addition have boycotted Walmart. For past yr have been concentrating on supporting American-owned companies that are not outsourcing jobs to 3rd world. If enough Americans make that a priority this multi-national sell-out will reverse & U.S. companies will create & keep jobs in the homeland contributing to strength of both U.S. economy & workers.
