Just watch Lou Dobb's CNN 6PM each evening & listen to unemployed formerly high-paid workers express their discontent

Lou Dobbs is has become the focal point for this POV. Since he went through the hire/fire/hire process at CNN, he is a power unto himself, and can push anything he wants to.

What you are watching every night is formally overpaid IP workers from the Boom adjusting to reality. Another thing involved is age. When I was a Headhunter back in the 70s, I always had a stream of applicants that got laid off in IP because their employer felt they were out of date. Or they just wanted to replace them with younger workers for less money.

Nowadays, it is easy for the boss to tell them it is due to outsourcing. Or for the job seeker, who is having a problem, to blame it on that. This is also "pressure group" politics. People looking for a Federal handout.
