Yes, an illustrative point.

Running is an arduous sport where men do have some muscular advantage.

In the realm of mathematics, another arduous past time, men have no such advantage. MQ has uttered complete nonsense on the subject. One just has to read it with open eyes and say "what the f**k has this to do with mathematical ability"??

My mother tells me she gets a "mental block" on the subject of mathematics. I would say there was a thick headed irish man, her "math" teacher, whos knuckles barely cleared the ground, told her as a child "girls were no good at "math". She liked geometry she tells me.

Mathematics is a tough subject, Sure enough my eldest daughter came to me aged about 13 yrs and said "she was no good at maths". I am not a parent whos pushes, or over encourages my childrens education. I let them find their own pace and am available for help when asked. All I did was show her the tattered well thumbed copy of my college book, with it's aged pages that had to be taped back in in many cases along with my college notes. I told her that maths is a subject that starts off hard then gets easier. There was a little help with a few of the concepts, and that was all it took. She scored one of the highest marks in the country for "A" level mathematics, and maths is her third favorite subject after Chemistry and Biology. She now taking her first year examinations as an undergraduate in Biology at Glasgow University. This proud father would not like to see other females sold short on their true abilities.
