No one has adequately explained to me why it wasn't a good idea to take out Saddam because of the possibility that he could have obtained fissile material on the black market, something he clearly would have done given the opportunity.

"Could have" and "would have" may be good reasons for taking him out either independently or as part of a package or reasons. However, they do not *require* us to do so frantically. They do not suggest urgency and immediacy. They give us a bit of breathing room for deliberation and case building and consensus. They do not demand putting the fear of annihilation in people.

If I may be so nuanced...
